Craps and Other Video Table Games Approved by New York Lottery
State run casinos recently received approval from the New York Lottery to add video craps, baccarat, roulette and blackjack to their casino floors. If all goes well, the casinos should be able to add the new games by next year. Bill Murray the Deputy Director of the New York Lottery announced the plan to allow the video games during the 8th annual New York Gaming Summit. The Summit took place at the Gideon Putnam hotel and conference center in Saratoga Springs. Murray commented: “we are ready to move forward now. We don’t think we need the legislation.”
The New York State Senate passed a bill around the first of June that would allow the video table game such as craps. But the Assembly has yet to make a move. Murray has stated that the Assembly has not let it be known whether or not they are going to pass the bill before the end of the session.
Murray also stated that he is confident that the state would win if opponents challenged the Lottery decision. He believes they would win because the games are games of chance like slot machines.
