Man Blames Wife’s shopping for his Craps Habit
Richard Weiler of Green Bay, Wisconsin is taking his wife to court for his gambling problem. Weiler states that his wife’s habit of shopping made him go to local casinos and play at the craps tables. This in turn led Weiler to gain a gambling problem. So now Mr. Weiler is suing his wife, who he has been married to for twenty seven years, for $1.5 million.

Albert Freil is Weiler’s lawyer and he filed a lawsuit on his client’s behalf. The lawsuit states that Gizelle Weiler is the sole responsible party for Mr. Weiler’s gambling addiction. It also states that Gizelle made frequent deals with her husband in which he could go gambling at the craps tables if she could go shopping.

Freil has stated: “My client has dealt with years of manipulation from his wife. It is time that this sort of domestic persuasion is brought to the forefront of America.” Freil was asked if he thought the lawsuit would hold up in court and he answered that although they may not win any money they will hopefully get lawmakers to change casino laws.

To his point, one part of the lawsuit states: “men with wives should not be allowed in casinos, much like smoking has been banned, so too should men with wives. They both are equally as dangerous to the health of casino employees.”

It will be very interesting to see where this leads. Will the case even make it to court and if so how much if any money will Mr. Weiler receive from his wife? Only time will tell.
