New Table Games in Two West Virginia Casinos
It was going to be a merry Christmas for many citizens of West Virginia and the surrounding areas this year as two casinos added table games to their lineup. The week before Christmas, the Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack and Resort and the Wheeling Island Hotel, Casino and Racetrack welcomed new craps, blackjack and roulette tables to their casinos. The Mountaineer Casino added fifty new table games while the Wheeling Island Casino added forty-three. Both Casinos had a ribbon cutting ceremony at precisely the same time. At 10:00 A.M. players were able to start enjoying the new table games.
Citizens are really enjoying the casinos. Both have been offering poker since mid-October and with the new addition of the table games they have been rapidly expanding. A local, Angela Scott, said: "I love it so far, and when I get in and win some money, I'll really love it”.
The new additions to the casinos have also brought jobs to the area. Ted Arneault, the CEO of the Mountaineer, stated they have hired 725 new people. The new jobs have brought people back to the area they had once left. The casinos are open twenty-four hours a day so the opportunity for employment is vast.
